Morning in Amsterdam

The grey shades of morning is what Summer Solstice gives Amsterdam. As if the sun is stuck just behind the horizon, wanting to climb up but left there unattended. As if Tsohanoai, the Sun Spirit, who carries the sun on his back from East to West, disheartened by the rain, decided to stay in and leave the sun hanging on the peg in his hogan.
But is it the rain he dreads?
Or is it that feeling you experience when you are all alone at home, just before dawn when you wake up to a noise that you can't quite place. It's gone when you open your eyes, but it crawls under your skin anyway. It feels like you are being watched.
Does Tsohanoai, too, intuit the arrival of intruders?

The Dutch SCBWI-ites wish you all a day filled with inspiring surprises!
